Sebastian

“I can’t believe you cooked all this yourself,” Josie says, then nibbles on the last piece of garlic bread.

“It’s just chicken and pasta. Nothing fancy.”

“Still, you don’t seem like the kind of guy who spends a lot of time in the kitchen.”

She’s right. I’m not. It took three hours and several youtube videos to get this right. But I’m discovering that I’d do all that—and more—for this woman. She showed up to the diner wearing jeans that had the washed look, probably because they’d actually been washed. I didn’t mind. They fit her curves like a glove. She wore a pale pink top that drew attention to the pink of her lips.

Now, I can’t take my eyes off them. Her lips. Her curves. Her smile. Being with her in my cabin kitchen feels right. Riding with her on the back of my bike feels right. Making her laugh feels right. And the way she makes my cock hard as a rock feels damn right.

The only thing that doesn’t feel right is the fact that she still doesn’t know who I am. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I wasn’t planning on starting anything serious here in the boonies. The whole reason I’d come up here was to take a break from the drama of my life.

But with Josie sitting across from me looking like a goddamn angel—an angel I want to corrupt for the rest of my life—I’m starting to think I made a mistake.

“If you’re finished, you can sit in front of the fire. I’ll bring some wine,” I say, putting my conflicted thoughts out of my mind in favor of appreciating the woman in front of me.

“That sounds nice,” she says, then stands up from the table.

“I’ll put some of this in a container for your Nanna,” I say, taking the dishes to the counter.

“Oh, you don’t have to do that,” she exclaims. “In fact, I should be helping you.”

“No. I told you it was my turn to serve you,” I state firmly. “Plus, I know you’ve sacrificed time with her to be with me. I want to give something back.”

“Okay.” She huffs a little, but her cheeks have a little extra pink to them. I think—I hope—I’m doing something right. Because when she smiles at me, I feel like doing something very, very wrong with her.

As I bring her a glass of wine, I notice the soft smile on her face as she looks at the fire. A sense of primitive satisfaction grows in my chest. My woman. Warm, safe, well fed, and mine. Blood pumps through my veins, ready to seduce and devour. That’s not what this evening is for, but suddenly it’s all I can think about. Tasting those lips, feeling her hands on my body, and giving her as much pleasure as she can handle.

“Here,” I say as I hand her the glass and sit next to her, my voice barely above a growl.

“Thank you,” she says, her voice soft. She looks at me with her big blue eyes, and I can’t wait any more.
